KAON Automation Acquired by Automated Industrial Robotics Inc

Automated Industrial Robotics Inc. (AIR) has announced the acquisition of BORMAC Cluster member KAON Automation. Kaon Automation is a Sligo-based specialist in advanced industrial automation. The move significantly strengthens AIR’s footprint in the life sciences sector, leveraging KAON Automation’s expertise in precision assembly, high-speed aseptic filling, and modular system architectures.
KAON Automation brings specialised knowledge in intelligent conveyor architectures and “zero-touch” change-over systems. Manufacturing solutions like this are essential for high-speed, high-throughput, regulated manufacturing.
The acquisition grows AIR’s global workforce to over 550 employees. It now has 450,000 square feet of facilities in the US, Ireland, and the UK.
Supported by Ares Private Equity, the merger aligns with AIR’s goal of building a globally integrated platform with deep technical domain experience.
Leadership from both companies emphasized the partnership combines KAON Automation’s engineering rigor with AIR’s expansive resources. While KAON Automation will integrate into AIR’s unified operating model, it retains its focus on delivering bespoke, scalable solutions for its global client base.
